You must have seen the faux pro-age posts on social media!
The ones that “encourage” women over 40 (and in some cases 35) to share their selfies, to talk about their worth and value, without inhibitions.
This trend is toxic.
Because it tries to hijack the cause of our queens.
It screams, “you can be “old”, just not too old”. The right kind of mature … meaning shy of 50.
It is a ploy to push 30 and 40 somethings into panic mode. Around the time when their first wrinkles show. And menopause sharpens its claws in anticipation of impending havoc.
Well…
Today we have a story so energizing, so aligned to the true silver mission…..That by the time you’re done reading this blog -- you’ll be ready to fiercely embrace the mantra — “whatever is up next can absolutely be the best days of my life”.
It’s never too late for miracles.
To that end, say hello to Prime queen Susan Luke Evans.
It’s not like Susan’s youth was beige. Or that she hankered for scraps of excitement.
Far from it.
Susan is someone who has literally done it all.
A preacher’s kid with a penchant for stories, she is the classic definition of a roaring success.
Imagine teaching in remote Native American villages, living in log cabins… and giving up the familiarity and comfort of television, hot water … and often - even plumbing.
Shift from that to being the CEO of a technical services support organization where you execute on a 5-year plan in a mere three… paying dividends ahead of time and spearheading a successful merger….
Being a Global Speaking Fellow … (notoriously elusive an accomplishment because it means you possess a deep understanding of the ever-evolving needs of an international audience, and can expertly present on the global stage!!)
A best-selling author…. !
And “tutu” (Grandma in Hawaiian) to two grandchildren…. :)
Susan even started her own business some 35 years ago… as she was about to cruise into her fifties. The work she did there ended up taking her to 6 continents. And winning her accolades.
Yet, it is in her 70s that she feels the most confident. That she’s liberated and eager to be in a (still) public-facing role. Enthused to wake up and own the day. It has taken discipline and oodles of self-love - true. But come on, the result is worth it.
Her verve and vigour, the fact that Susan has kept re-inventing herself (and not just personally, but in front of hundreds of people) -- in almost every decade after the big 5-0 -- show loud and proud that it can be done and that a queen’s worth and ability to contribute to society don’t diminish with age.
In fact her resources - reserve, detachment, assets - grow and multiply, alongside her invaluable wisdom.
And if she so chooses … her best years can indeed be her seventies, eighties -- and beyond.
It’s never too late.
Know that the best is yet to come. You’re more beautiful and prepared today … than you’ve ever been before.
Youth is overrated. Health and mental alacrity are not. Youth gives you a false sense of complacence. Without exception, we all have to work to hold on to joints that don’t ache and a mind that remembers! At fifty, you are much more likely to know how to take care of yourself. And you also get the importance of exercise, diet, giving yourself a pass, and not crying over things that won’t matter in a day or a week. That is priceless.
Make friends with stories. They tell you that each turn of a page is pure potential. That anything can happen… that a thriller can metamorphose into a delightful romance. That melancholy is temporary … wiped away with words. If you look at your life experience as a series of stories, there is no “good” or “bad”. It’s all a part of your hero’s journey.
Bet on yourself. Send that email. Even if your first career is long over. Buy that dress. Start that business. When you don’t make a move, you’ll simply never move. Work ethics and intent don’t “age”. And their tag team can get you farther than the half-hearted, self-deprecating, distracted attempts of someone half your years.
“I’ve never thought that beauty was skin deep, but that didn’t keep me from always wanting to look good to/for other people and when I look in the mirror!
I know that true beauty comes from within, based on attitude, experience, the people who surround you, and perhaps a wee bit of “magic”! For me, the “magic” comes from within, in terms of faith, values, philosophies of life, and purpose. If I don’t have all those things in alignment, it affects my mindset, my attitude, my ability to communicate positively with others, to love wholly, to laugh freely and often, and to experience every day with gratitude, humbleness, & joy!
Perhaps that all sounds like a bunch of clichés or platitudes?? For me it’s the way I choose to live, especially through the challenges as well as the good times. I know that all of that comes from a strong sense of self leading to a positive & joyful attitude. Do I have my “down days/moments”? Absolutely, but they never last! All of my internal systems/beliefs are enhanced when I look in the mirror and I like what I see – it enhances everything I do or say because it is an outward manifestation of who I am & who I am (still) becoming!
I am grateful to have found Prime products because they help me to look and feel both authentic and joyful!”

Yes, beauty is your aura. It is your energy.
But it is hard to fully revel in and grow in the conviction that you are beautiful when the image in the mirror doesn’t look like your best self.
Not your best self from 2 decades ago…
Not the best you can be --- “for your age” (Ugh… that makes our blood boil).
But the best your skin, your eyelashes, your hair, your brows can be - given the life you’ve lived and the genes you’ve been blessed with.
This isn’t vain. This pursuit - and its eventual success - is your birthright.
Susan elaborates:
“I had tried numerous products available over the years. They never lived up to their “promises” concerning results or ease of use.
Many of them required special brushes, etc. I wasted a lot of money on those kinds of accessories, and I never got the lasting results with my skincare and makeup applications that I sought. Everything else revolved around how many different products I apparently required to achieve my desired look….
I was disappointed over & over again, often frustrated, & usually did not feel like I was putting my best face forward! I was running behind my time schedule to do something or to be somewhere, and I never felt as “put together” as I had hoped. Sometimes I looked ok, but it didn’t last. On those occasions that I thought I looked ok; I never received the kinds of compliments &/or the questions about the products I use as I continue to receive since using Prime.”

But thankfully, after spending 7 decades dissatisfied — she discovered Prime as her trusty side-kick.
“Without sounding trite or scripted, it’s been one little miracle after another! My eyebrows have grown back, my lashes are longer and fuller, my skin is still tan, but it has more elasticity & a “softness” to it than it did before. One of the best things is that I have gained time back in my life.
I have an established routine that takes no more than 15-20 minutes max in the morning (Of course this is after coffee; otherwise, all bets are off on the timing routine☺). As additional products have been introduced, they fit right into my time frame almost seamlessly (another miracle?). At night, the entire process takes 5 minutes!
I feel liberated in many ways: time, easy to use products, knowing that I will look good every time! I will never be a model or anything close, however in my work I continue to be in front of audiences of all sizes.
Looking good makes me feel good & that energy is so necessary when working with clients and colleagues. I don’t think I would have been as successful in my business as I have been since having the consistency of products I trust! I’m semi-retired now, but I still speak to various groups from time to time, and I never worry about my skin or my makeup because of Prime.”
